Cienna - Muinainen armas

Folk duo Cienna presents their new Finnish-language album "Muinainen armas", released on 21.8.2026 (Texicalli Records). The band performs in autumn 2026 both as a duo and with guest musicians from the album.

Cienna consists of singer Kaisa Leskinen and kantele artist Senni Eskelinen. Leskinen became known as a winner of Voice of Finland 2021, and Eskelinen is recognized as one of Finland's leading kantele players, particularly known for her use of a 39-string electric kantele. The album's songs are composed to old Finnish poems and texts by Cienna and Vesa Pisto - the title track is based on L. Onerva's poem "Metsäkohtaus". The album also features a Finnish version of "My Songbird", composed by Jesse Winchester and recorded by Emmylou Harris in 1978, titled "Niin kuin laululintuni", now heard for the first time in Finnish. Guest musicians on the album include Mikko Kuustonen (harmonica), Vesa Pisto (bass), Jan Noponen and Janne Mathlin (percussion), Saana Kujala (keyboard violin), Volter Putro (saw) and Anssi Salminen (violin). Their debut album "Northeast" was released in 2023.

Lobby Myyrmäki is a 60-seat music club right next to Myyrmäki station. The venue is located on the second floor of the Myyrinpuhos building - the entrance to stairwell A is found between Ravintola Toppari and Myyrmäen apotek. From central Helsinki it takes just over a quarter hour with an AB ticket.
