Reading Dog Tuike

The reading dog programme continues at Tikkurila Library throughout the autumn term 2026. You can read aloud to the reading dog Tuike on Wednesdays on 30.9., 28.10., 18.11., 2.12. and 16.12.

Each reading session lasts a maximum of 15 minutes. You can read your own book or choose from the library's collection. The dog's handler is present but does not intervene during the reading session.

Practical instructions:
1. Book a time slot at the children's section information desk or by phone: 043 8250 964
2. One reader at a time
3. The reading dog is a reading companion, not a playmate - focus on reading
4. Reading dogs enjoy being petted, but ask the owner's permission first
5. Children under school age must be accompanied by an adult
