Inspired by true events, The President's Ride takes viewers into the absurd happenings of 1930. During a heavy drinking night, a group of ambitious officers decides to kidnap Finland's first president - the retired K. J. Ståhlberg. The stubborn president's wife, Ester Ståhlberg, refuses to abandon her husband even in this tight spot, and insists on squeezing into the back seat of the car alongside the kidnappers. What follows is an incredible journey across a turbulent Finland, where rumors and history intertwine - and it remains unclear what was truth and what was legend in the president's ride.
