Demarian Students' Autumn Days 2026: Grand Finance Hackathon 💰

Demarian Students' Autumn Days 2026 brings together student activists from across Finland to Pori on Saturday 26.9. from 12:00 to Sunday 27.9. by 16:00 at the latest. The weekend's theme is a grand finance hackathon: what should be preserved in the welfare state, what can be abandoned, and how can the funding gap be closed as parliamentary elections approach in spring 2027?

The programme features speakers on economics, discussions on state budget structures and values, and joint sessions with vocational college students ahead of autumn representative elections. Together with the Edaattor network, guidelines for representative work in the coming year will be reviewed. The weekend also includes relaxation and possible surprise programming.

🏨 Accommodation is arranged at Hotel Vaakuna in rooms for 2-3 people. Single rooms must be arranged separately with the hotel - if you book accommodation yourself, select a ticket without accommodation. Roommate preferences can be indicated during registration. Meals follow the union board's guidelines and are primarily vegetarian.

🚆 Travel expense reimbursement is paid according to the cheapest public transport - journeys by private car are not reimbursed. Travel expense claims must be submitted within one week of the event's end (form: sonk.fi/materiaalipankki), and reimbursement is paid only to those who participate in the entire official programme.

💰 Cancellation terms: 14 days before the event or with a medical certificate you receive 100% refund. Last-minute cancellations must be reported immediately to the union's chair. If the event's costs are a barrier, you should ask for support from your local branch, party branch, or municipal organisation - or contact the organisers.
