Read a Play!

Read a Play! is a monthly event series in which a library professional interviews a Finnish playwright. The discussions explore what dramatic literature offers readers and why it has received little attention in the literary field. At the same time, recommendations from library collections of plays are highlighted.

On Thursday 24.9.2026 from 17 to 18 at Vuosaaren Library, the guest author is Pasi Lampela, with interviewers Jukka Hurjanen and Kalle Kivinen. The event has been rescheduled from spring. Admission is free.

All events are broadcast live on Kirjastokaista and also published as recordings at kirjastokaista.fi - spring guests E. L. Karhu, Juha Jokela, Elli Salo and Saara Turunen are already available there.

The series is organized by Suomen Näytelmäkirjailijat ja Käsikirjoittajat ry (Sunklo), Helsinki City Library and Kirjastokaista.
