Residents' Meeting: Southern Pihlaja and Pihlajalaakso Park

Helsinki city organized an open workshop in autumn 2025 on planning the southern part of Pihlaja. Three preliminary alternative design proposals have now been prepared, and the city wants to hear residents' views. The meeting is part of the public consultation phase for the detailed plan and also presents the renewal of Pihlajalaakso Park.

The southern part of Pihlaja is intended to be developed as a dense, urban environment in line with the master plan and planning principles. The area is planned for approximately 1,500 new residents as well as a daycare center and other services. Construction will be coordinated with the area's natural values, and public outdoor spaces are intended to be developed in a natural manner.

The meeting begins with brief project presentations around 17:00-17:30, after which participants can explore the plans at their own pace. Representatives from planning, landscape and traffic planning, and other experts will be present. No advance registration is required - you can attend for the full duration or drop by for a shorter visit.
