OYY's Advocacy Section 3/2026

OYY's Advocacy Section meets on 24 September at the Linnanmaa campus. The event addresses current topics in student advocacy and is open to all interested parties. Participation in English is also possible.

The programme begins with coffee and light refreshments at Tellus Backstage at 17:00, with the main programme starting at 17:15. The venues are located at Tellus on Linnanmaa: Tellus Backstage, Horizon, and Galaxy.

The programme consists of four sections. In the joint section, university staff lead a discussion on sustainable development in honour of Sustainable Development Week. The education policy section (Kopo) covers current higher education issues both at the University of Oulu and at the national level - fresh updates on development projects launching this autumn will be presented on site. The international affairs section (KV) discusses how well new international students have been integrated into the community. The social policy section (Sopo) presents OYY's new parliamentary election programme and examines what students can expect from the upcoming elections - it also briefly reviews the results of the previous parliamentary elections.

Registration helps organisers plan catering and any interpretation services. Register by 16 September!
