Autumn Cinema: Onneli and Anneli (S) - Annantalo's Autumn Break

During the autumn break, Annantalo's autumn cinema presents Finnish films based on children's books. The autumn cinema is part of the Children's Book Festival, held at Annantalo from 7.10.2026 to 27.2.2027. The festival celebrates children's picture books and reading through exhibitions, author visits, workshops, and events.

Entry to the films is free and no advance registration is required. Audiences are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, seating is limited, and groups are accommodated as space allows - so it's worth arriving early.

Onneli and Anneli (S) is based on Marjatta Kurenniemi's novel Onnelin ja Annelin talo. The film follows two first-grade girls, Onneli and Anneli, who find money on the street and buy a house from the mysterious Mrs Ruusupuula - a dream home perfectly sized for them. The girls move into the house and spend a summer filled with adventures, surprises, and neighbours: Tingelstiina and Tangelstiina, and initially grumpy Mrs Rosina Rusina, who eventually finds joy in her life.
