Voice and Expression Training for Volunteers

Voice and expression training for volunteers is held on Tuesday 27.10.2026 from 17:00 to 19:30 in the event space of Töölö Library on the 4th floor.

The training covers healthy voice production techniques, voice care tips, and various ways of expressing yourself through speech and voice use. The exercises support self-expression in situations such as leading groups, reading aloud, friendship volunteering, negotiations, or palliative care volunteering. The instructor is theatre expression educator and special librarian Elisa Makkonen. From 19:00 to 19:30, library staff also present book recommendations.

The event is aimed at volunteers working through the Intermediaries network with a focus on volunteer activities. The network includes the City of Helsinki, Helsinki and Uusimaa Association for the Visually Impaired, HelsinkiMissio, Finnish Red Cross, VTKL, Mereo rf, Helsinki Memory Association, Egnahemsstiftelsen Foundation, and Miina Sillanpää Foundation.
