Congo Boy - Vuotalo x Rakkautta & Anarkiaa

The 39th Rakkautta & Anarkiaa film festival runs 17-27 September 2026 at Helsinki cinemas - and once again at Vuotalo as well. The programme will be announced on Tuesday 1 September, and tickets go on sale from Friday 4 September on the festival website hiff.fi.

Congo Boy

Bangui, Central African Republic. 17-year-old Robert dreams of a music career, but civil war tears his country apart. When both parents are imprisoned, Robert is left alone caring for his four younger sisters.

Surviving day to day, odd jobs and preparing for school exams fill his days - yet he stubbornly holds on to his dream of performing on a concert stage.
