Tehdas Teatteri: Extra-neitsyt evankeliumi

Extra-neitsyt evankeliumi is a political object theatre production by the Turkish Tehdas Teatteri about Palestine's first - and last - sex toy shop. A man from Bethlehem dreams for years of opening Palestine's first sex toy shop. After many obstacles, he succeeds, but on opening day the Second Intifada begins. The shop is visited by everyone - Israeli soldiers, Palestinian police, armed militias, extremist Islamists, lost Christian pilgrims, angry neighbors and the landlord - everyone except customers.

The true story serves as a foundation for exploring war, which director Ishmael Falke knows intimately from his homeland. The production was nominated for the Thalia Prize and won the Janus Prize from the Turku Theatre Foundation. Duration 1 h 15 min.
