A favorite from the R&A series, a crime film by Sabu in which a detective attempts to solve a kidnapping, but progressive dementia complicates the plans.

When a local businessman's child is kidnapped, detective Lee (Ethan Juan) sets out to find the culprit with ransom money in hand. But mounting dementia casts a shadow over the operation: the plan soon goes awry, and Lee soon realizes he is fleeing not only from criminals but also from his colleagues. Gradually his hard exterior cracks, and behind the diagnosis of illness, ghosts of the past begin to emerge.

Sabu, who has directed films for thirty years, commands his style. Arrested Memory is a confident addition to the detective film's varied tradition - the cinematography favors warm colors and silence, but the film does not forget the genre's spice: humor and meaty action sequences.
