In this political and romantic film, a TV cameraman finds new love in the final days of freedom before the Taliban's return to Afghanistan.

No Good Men is written and directed by Afghan filmmaker Shahrbanoo Sadat and tells a serious story in a light, rom-com style. The film focuses on women's status and political news in Afghanistan just before the United States withdrew from the country in 2021.

Sadat plays the lead role herself - Naru, a TV cameraman and mother of a young boy who is divorcing her abusive husband. Naru films a local Dr. Phil-style show in the studio, but dreams of becoming a news correspondent. One day she gets to accompany star journalist Qodrat and proves her skill in news filming.

Because Naru is a woman, other women open up to her differently than they do to men in interviews. The film's title comes from such a moment - a Valentine's Day street interview that Naru conducts, where woman after woman testifies that there are no good men in Afghanistan. Everyone treats women badly.

Naru and Qodrat's collaboration leads to friendship and something more, and the film pays homage to Michael Curtiz's Casablanca near the end. Is there perhaps one good man in Afghanistan after all?
