Based on true events, this film takes us to Finland in 1930, where a group of ambitious officers, after a heavy drinking session, decide to kidnap the country's first president - the retired K. J. Ståhlberg. The stubborn Ester Ståhlberg refuses to abandon her husband even in this precarious situation, and squeezes herself into the back seat of the car alongside the kidnappers. What follows is a journey through a turbulent Finland, where rumors and history intertwine - and it remains unclear what was truth and what was fiction in this kidnapping.
