Week for the Elderly 4.-11.10.2026

Leppävirta hosts a week for the elderly from 4-11 October 2026. Throughout the week, a varied programme is offered at different locations across the municipality - exercise, lectures, music, services and shared activities. The programme is a collaboration between several local organisations, the parish and the municipality. Changes to the programme are possible.

SUNDAY 4.10.
An 80th birthday celebration is held at the old rectory. This is an invitation-only event. (Leppävirta Parish)

MONDAY 5.10.
• 11-11.45 Sing-along and coffee at Leppärengas office (Leppärengas ry)
• 12-14 Open meeting place at Church Corner (Leppävirta Parish)
• 12.30-14 Culture café - live music at Meeting Place Veikkola (Leppälintu)
• 13-13.45 Light home exercise online, group room at Pappilanpuisto senior home Tupasvillan (Inner Savo Adult Education Centre)
• 13-14 Webinar: Meet everyday life through movement - vitality for the brain. Can be followed at Church Corner or independently.

TUESDAY 6.10.
• 11-12 Lunch at the old rectory (Leppävirta Parish)
• 11.15-12 Asahi health exercise standing or on a chair, Arena group exercise room (Vesileppis Sports Services)
• 12-13.30 Café concert at the old rectory (Leppävirta Parish)
• 14.30 Lecture: Advocacy and other important documents - municipal councillor Pekka Nykänen, municipal building council chamber
• 13-14 Webinar: SeniorSurf day - fact or fiction? Come and test and learn media skills. Can be followed at Reimari or independently.

WEDNESDAY 7.10.
• 10-11 Guided gym training for beginners, Arena gym (Vesileppis Sports Services)
• 10-11 Beware of online fraud - OP's AML expert Nea Airaksinen at the old rectory (Pensioners' Association)
• 12.30-14 Lecture by memory care nurse, self-paid coffee, Tirkko's party room (Heart Association)
• 15 Elderly people's communion service at Leppävirta Church (Leppävirta Parish)
• 17.30 In memory of Eeva Kilpi - literature and discussion evening at Kivelä auditorium (Leppävirta Library)
