Day trip to Petkeljärvi National Park (Joensuu)

The trip departs on Friday, 2 October 2026 at 10:00 from Carelian (Universitetskatu 4, 80100 Joensuu). Arrive in good time - the bus has toilet facilities and you will reach Petkeljärvi around 11:30. The return journey departs at 15:30 and arrives back at Carelian at 17:00.

At Petkeljärvi National Park you can explore independently or join ISYY's hiking group. ISYY walks the easy Kuika loop (6.5 km, approximately 2 hours) and there is also time for your own exploration of the park. With luck you may spot beavers and their constructions.

The trip is open to all UEF students and staff. The cost is 5 euros, which includes bus transport from and to campus. Registration opens in Kide.app from 16-28 September or while places are available - registration is binding. The trip will only take place if there are enough participants, and any cancellation will be notified to registered participants by email by 30 September at the latest.
