Who Belongs in Roihuvuori? Roihuvuori Forest in Dialogue on the Inclusion of People and Other Species

Who feels at home in Roihuvuori? Who gets to participate in caring for the area's nature and making decisions about it? How could the presence and needs of other species be better considered?

The event examines inclusion from a biodiversity perspective. The first part discusses inclusion among people: the experience of belonging and home, active participation, and the opportunity to influence decisions about the local environment. The second part broadens the discussion to multi-species inclusion - how could we learn to see Roihuvuori's other inhabitants as fellow residents rather than as environmental backdrop, and what would that mean for the area's planning?

The discussion is led by Helsinki city councillor (left) Jenny Kasongo, deputy (green) and doctoral researcher Riina Bhatia, researcher Maija Faehnle from the Finnish Environment Institute, artist and doctoral researcher Teemu Lehmusruusu, and postdoctoral researcher Sami Keto.
