FotoEspoo2026

Soukan Kamerat ry invites Espoo's camera clubs and their members to the FotoEspoo2026 photography competition. The competition winner is named Espoo's photographer of the year, and the club with the most points becomes Espoo's camera club of the year.

Theme: "Atmosphere"

Competition categories: black and white (bw), colour (c), and photo series. Individual photo categories accept up to three images per category, and photo series accept one work containing 3-5 images - a maximum of 11 images total. Previously awarded images are not accepted (except for internal club competitions).

Technique: The image must be taken with a camera and photographed by the competitor themselves. Drawings or AI-generated images are not accepted. Image processing and editing are permitted, and the paper print can be made by someone else.

Prints: The image must be 30 x 40 cm mounted on board ("paspas"). Each print is marked on the back with the image title, photographer's name, and club name. The final submission deadline is 2 October 2026 at Kamerastore Espoo (Tapiontori 3B). Competition images can be collected from Kamerastore Espoo at a later announced time.

Scoring: Prints selected for the exhibition receive one point. Awarded images receive additional points: third place totals 2 points (1+1), second place 3 points (1+2), and first place 4 points (1+3). Points are also tallied by club to determine the camera club of the year.

The announcement event is Wednesday 18 November 2026, 18:00-20:00 at Lippulaivan kirjasto's multipurpose room Salonki. Images selected for the exhibition remain on display on Salonki's exhibition wall from the announcement day onwards.

Competitors must have full publication rights to their images.
