Korkeasaari Zoo, founded in 1889, is one of the oldest zoos in Europe. Set on its own island in Helsinki, it houses more than 150 animal species. The zoo is open year-round and hosts seasonal events, including popular winter light shows.

Korkeasaari opens extended hours for autumn evenings 14-18 September, 10:00-22:00. The island is beautifully lit in the evening with guided animal feeding, evening walks, and dining.
