Helsinki Olympic Stadium is a functionalist landmark completed in 1938, originally built for the 1940 Summer Olympics - a Games that never happened due to the war. Helsinki finally hosted the Olympics in 1952, and the stadium has been a central venue ever since. Today it serves as the home ground of the Finnish national football team and regularly hosts large concerts and athletics events.
