About

Carmen is an opera by Georges Bizet, premiered in Paris in 1875. Based on Prosper Mérimée's novella, it follows the passionate and ill-fated relationship between the free-spirited Carmen and the soldier Don José. The Habanera and the Toreador Song are among the most recognizable arias in the operatic repertoire.
