About

Darude is the stage name of Finnish DJ and producer Ville Virtanen (born 17 July 1975, Hinnerjoki), who broke through internationally in 1999 with the trance instrumental 'Sandstorm' - a track that topped charts in over 30 countries and has since crossed 500 million Spotify streams. He has released five studio albums, performed in over 70 countries, and represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 alongside singer Sebastian Rejman. DJ Magazine has called him Finland's biggest musical export.
