Hannu Lintu (born 1967, Rauma) is a Finnish conductor who served as chief conductor of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra for a decade (2013-2023) and now leads the Finnish National Opera and Ballet as well as the Orquestra Gulbenkian in Lisbon. He won the Nordic Conducting Competition in Bergen in 1994 and has built an international career spanning major orchestras on several continents. His discography, recorded mainly with the FRSO on Ondine, has earned two ICMA awards and multiple Grammy and Gramophone nominations.
Lintu began his tenure as Artistic Partner of Sinfonia Lahti and Artistic Director of the International Sibelius Festival in autumn 2025.
The Singapore Symphony Orchestra announced Lintu as its next music director, effective with the 2026-2027 season, with an initial contract of three seasons.
Lintu began hosting a weekly classical music radio programme, 'Lintu & Kamari', on Radio Helsinki every Tuesday from 5 March 2024.
The Lahti Symphony Orchestra announced Lintu as its new artistic partner, effective autumn 2025.
The Gulbenkian Orchestra announced Lintu as its next chief conductor, effective with the 2023-2024 season.
