About

Jesca Hoop (born 1975, Santa Rosa, California) is an American singer-songwriter now based in Manchester, UK, whose music moves freely between folk, indie and experimental pop. She came to wider attention after working as a nanny for Tom Waits, who championed her early career; Peter Gabriel later took her on tour, and a call from Elbow's Guy Garvey drew her to England. Her seventh album, Long Wave Home (May 2026), is the first she has produced entirely herself.
