Jukka Viikilä

About

Jukka Viikilä (born 1973) is a Helsinki-based Finnish author and dramaturg who has won the Finlandia Prize twice - for his debut novel Akvarelleja Engelin kaupungista (2016) and for Taivaallinen vastaanotto (2021), making him one of only three writers to have achieved that feat in the prize's history. Trained at the Theatre Academy of Finland, he works across poetry, prose and radio drama, and his writing is known for its linguistic precision and formally experimental structures.
