Jyväskylä Sinfonia is the municipal symphony orchestra of Jyväskylä, founded in 1955 and municipalised in 1965. With 39 permanent musicians, it is the main classical music institution of Central Finland, presenting over 150 events a year to more than 40,000 listeners. Since autumn 2024 the orchestra's chief conductor is Italian maestro Lorenzo Passerini. The orchestra has an extensive discography across multiple labels and was the first ensemble to record Einojuhani Rautavaara's opera Aleksis Kivi.
Jyväskylä Sinfonia's website announced the upcoming autumn 2026 season, featuring international guest conductors, Finnish orchestras, local choirs and a strong focus on vocal music.
The orchestra presented a film music concert for the Taidetestaajat education programme in spring 2026, exploring Finnish cinema classics with soloists and conductor Ako Kiiski.
