Kauko Röyhkä (born Jukka-Pekka Välimaa, 12 February 1959, Valkeakoski) is a Finnish rock musician, author and screenwriter who has been active since 1980. He has released over 23 studio albums and is widely regarded as one of Finland's strongest rock lyricists, with two albums - Maa on voimaa and Pikku enkeli - on Soundi magazine's all-time list of the 50 greatest Finnish pop albums. Alongside his music career he has written ten novels and short story collections, screenplays for four films, and numerous columns and reviews. Röyhkeät is his current live backing band, focusing on the classic 1980s catalogue.
Röyhkä released a new solo single 'Jokilaiva' in September 2025.
The album 'Meidät pelastaa vain rakkaus' by Kauko Röyhkä & Riku Mattila was released on 29 August 2025, receiving four stars from both Helsingin Sanomat and Soundi.
Röyhkä appeared as a guest on the Yle Uutiset Sunnuntai programme in April 2026, discussing his views on public life and the present day.
Röyhkä performed in Fuengirola, Spain in February 2026 and revealed plans for a new novel set in the same city.
