Maija Vilkkumaa (born 9 November 1973 in Helsinki) is a Finnish pop-rock singer-songwriter who launched her solo career in 1999 and has since sold over 300,000 records in Finland, making her one of the country's best-selling female artists. She writes and composes all her own material, and her songs have charted across four decades - from the debut single 'Satumaa-tango' to later hits like 'Lottovoitto' and 'Viimeinen elämä'. Her accolades include five Emma Awards, the Juha Vainio Award for songwriting and the Teosto Prize.
Vilkkumaa announced her ninth studio album 'Karaoke-queen', due in autumn 2026, and released two preview singles: the title track and 'Oo mun kaa'.
A nationwide album-release tour was announced alongside 'Karaoke-queen', with tickets going on sale on 21 May 2026.
Vilkkumaa completed a large-scale 'Klubit!' club tour across Finland in early 2025, ending with a 20th-anniversary show of the album 'Se ei olekaan niin' at Helsinki's Tavastia on 13 April 2025.
After the Klubit! tour, Vilkkumaa announced at least a year-long break from live performances to work on new studio material.
In December 2024, Vilkkumaa performed a sold-out headline show at Nokia Arena in Tampere, described as the biggest concert of her career to that point.
