Maija Vilkkumaa

Maija Vilkkumaa is the headline act for the opening Friday of Laukon Kesä. Vilkkumaa is an award-winning singer and songwriter who has received the Juha Vainio Prize, the Teosto Prize, and numerous other accolades. Her most famous songs include "Satumaa-tango", "Ingalsin Laura", "Ei", "Viimeinen elämä", and "1973". She performs in a special concert after a lengthy break - before this she appeared at major arenas such as Helsinki Ice Hall and Nokia Arena.

Tickets are purchased online or via phone service (booking period 2 days). The ticket is exchanged for a wristband from 12:00 at the manor's ticket office and includes access to Laukon Kesä's art exhibitions from 12:00 to 18:00. Doors to the exhibitions, restaurant, café, shop, and terrace open at 12:00. Children under 6 enter free; those under 18 may only participate with an adult. Tickets can be purchased at the door if any remain.

Seating is unassigned standing and sitting areas. The concert park has over a thousand informal seating spots (uncovered). Picnic blankets and camping chairs are allowed, but outside beverages are not. In rainy weather, bring a rain jacket.

Laukon kartano is located on the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi, 40 km south of Tampere - travel time from Helsinki, Turku, and Pori is under 2 hours. Free parking is available at the manor; there is no public transport, but concert buses arrive from various parts of Finland and you can take the Hopealinjat ferry from Tampere. Accessibility: An assistant enters free with the same ticket. Wheelchair users have accessible entry, an accessible toilet is available, and a wheelchair ramp is in use. There is no hearing loop. The restaurant, café, shop, and park are accessible; exhibition spaces are inaccessible due to stairs.
