Iiro Rantala - An Evening with Iiro

Composer-pianist Iiro Rantala began his career in the 1990s with the Trio Töykeät ensemble and has since built an extensive solo career. His solo albums, released through the ACT label, have established him as an internationally recognized and respected jazz musician. Rantala studied at the Oulunkylä Pop & Jazz Institute, the Sibelius Academy's jazz programme, and the Manhattan School of Music in New York. He has received numerous awards, including the Yrjö Prize and Pro Finlandia.

At the Savoy Theatre, Iiro performs the most popular pieces from his solo catalogue, including Freedom, Pekka Pohjola, and November. Between the pieces, he shares stories, and the evening also features saxophonist Jukka Perko and actress Lotta Kuusisto.
