About

MDC (Millions of Dead Cops) is an American hardcore punk band that formed in Austin, Texas around 1979, originally under the name The Stains. Fronted throughout by singer Dave Dictor, the band relocated to San Francisco in 1982 and built their reputation on fast, politically charged music targeting police brutality, capitalism, and social injustice. Their 1982 debut LP is considered a hardcore classic, and the band has remained active - now based in Portland, Oregon - for over four decades.
