Musiikkitalon kuoro (Helsinki Music Centre Chorus) is a symphony chorus of around 130 singers founded in 2011, based at the Helsinki Music Centre. It works closely with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Sibelius Academy, performing eight to ten concerts a year across a repertoire that spans symphonic choral works, opera and a cappella music. Since January 2017 the chorus has been led by artistic director Nils Schweckendiek, professor of choral conducting.
Musiikkitalon kuoro is scheduled to perform Verdi's Four Sacred Pieces with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Antony Hermus on 18 December 2026.
The chorus performed with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Nicholas Collon in a concert broadcast on Yle Areena on 11 February 2026, featuring works by Berlioz, Boulanger and Nielsen.
Musiikkitalon kuoro opened the FRSO Friday Series 2025-2026 season on 12 September 2025, performing alongside conductor Kazuki Yamada.
In December 2024 the chorus performed Haydn's The Creation with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra under Thomas Hengelbrock.
The chorus took part in performances of Mahler's Symphony No. 8 with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra under Jukka-Pekka Saraste in May 2024.
