Northern Genocide is a Finnish melodic death metal band founded in 2010 by guitarist Pyry Pohjanpalo and producer Rainer Pekkinen in Helsinki, with roots also in the Lahti region. The band blends industrial electronics with modern melodic death metal, and their lyrics tackle eco-dystopian themes - overpopulation, climate collapse, corruption and the abuse of power. Their catalogue spans the EP 'Planet Asylum' (2015), debut album 'Genesis vol. 666' (2019) via Inverse Records, and the second full-length 'The Point of No Return' (2024). In 2025 the band introduced new vocalist Joni Parkkinen and began work on a third studio album, expected in 2026.
