Sami Ruusuvuori (born 1976, Toholampi) is a Finnish conductor and wind musician who has served as Chief Conductor of the Helsinki Police Symphonic Band since November 2012. He earned a doctorate from the Sibelius Academy in spring 2022 - the first wind conductor to graduate from its DocMus doctoral programme - and previously led the Guards Band, the representative orchestra of the President of Finland. His work spans classical and popular music, and he has toured ensembles across Japan, Russia, the United States and all the Nordic countries.
Ruusuvuori and the Helsinki Police Symphonic Band collaborated with Sibelius Academy singers in a joint concert in Järvenpää on 24 October 2025.
Ruusuvuori co-conducted the 'Yhdessä turvaamme Suomen' concert at Finlandia Hall alongside the Guards Band chief conductor, hosted by the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces and the National Police Commissioner.
Ruusuvuori led the Helsinki Police Symphonic Band in an all-time Eurovision hits concert at Savoy-teatteri on 12 February 2025, with soloists Maria Lund, Pepe Willberg and Mikael Konttinen.
Ruusuvuori graduated as the first wind conductor from the DocMus Doctoral Department of the Sibelius Academy, earning a Doctor of Music degree.
