Sami Saari and Jazzpojat perform Finnish soul at the Linnajazz festival. The programme includes Saari's own songs, classic hits by Aki Sirkesalo, and Finnish covers.
Sami Saari (born 21 January 1962 in Tampere) is a Finnish singer, songwriter and guitarist who has been active as a professional musician since 1982. Known as the 'King of Finnish Soul', he has released eight solo albums and built his reputation as one of the central figures of the 1990s suomisoul boom. Alongside his solo work, he has performed with Veeti & the Velvets, Aki Sirkesalo ja Lemmen jättiläiset, the Dallapé orchestra and, since 2016, Sami Saari & Jazzpojat.
Sami Saari ja Jazzpojat released their third album 'Nyt tai ei koskaan' on 23 May 2025, completing their dance-jazz trilogy, also issued on vinyl.
The band celebrated the album release with a concert at Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamo in Helsinki on 30 May 2025.
The single 'Jari' was released on 25 April 2025 as the first preview of the upcoming album.
'Nyt tai ei koskaan' placed third in the Rytmi category at the Funky Awards 2025.
Sami Saari & Jazzpojat are touring extensively across Finland throughout summer and autumn 2025, with dates in Helsinki, Tampere, Oulu, Kuopio, Hyvinkää and other cities.
