Tiia Kasurinen is a Finnish choreographer and dance artist whose work explores gender, power and physical performance. Her piece Birds of Paradise draws on the courtship displays of birds-of-paradise alongside stereotypical masculinity - wrestling, boy bands, club culture - to create a playful yet pointed stage work. An early version was selected for the Danse Élargie choreography competition in Paris.
