Tyranny is a Finnish funeral doom duo from Järvenpää, formed in 2001 by Matti Mäkelä and Lauri Lindqvist - both also known from Wormphlegm and Corpsessed. Their three releases, Bleak Vistae (2004), Tides of Awakening (2005) and Aeons in Tectonic Interment (2015, Dark Descent Records), have earned them a devoted following in the global underground; live appearances are exceptionally rare.
Aeons in Tectonic Interment, the band's second full-length and first new studio recording in a decade, was released via Dark Descent Records on 18 September 2015.
The album received widespread critical attention, with Decibel Magazine noting that 'TYRANNY have chosen to play all their music in the key of crushing.'
