Funeral

About

Funeral is a Norwegian funeral doom band from Drammen, founded in 1991 by drummer Anders Eek and guitarist Thomas Angell. They are regarded as one of the pioneers of the funeral doom genre, known for exceptionally slow, heavy music and lyrics drawn from real grief and loss. Eek remains the sole founding member still active, steering the band through decades of lineup changes and personal tragedies. Their eighth album, Gospel of Bones, was released in October 2024 via Season of Mist.
