Norwegian folk-metal band Wardruna performs at Sibeliustalo in Lahti.
Wardruna is a Norwegian music collective founded in 2003 by Einar Selvik and Gaahl, with Lindy-Fay Hella joining as a core member. The group builds its sound on Old Norse poetry and ancient Nordic instruments - frame drums, lur, kraviklyra, goat horn - and sings in Norwegian, Old Norse and proto-Norse. They reached a global audience through Einar Selvik's extensive work on the History Channel series Vikings and the game Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and have since released six studio albums, the latest being Birna (2025).
Wardruna postponed their three Finnish concerts (Helsinki, Lahti, Tampere) from November 2025 to October 2026 due to personal circumstances.
Wardruna announced the second leg of their world tour, covering over 40 dates in North America and Europe, including a debut performance at the Amphitheatre of Pompeii.
Wardruna released their sixth studio album Birna on January 24, 2025 via Sony Music and By Norse Music.
Birna debuted at #7 on the UK Albums Chart and #14 on the UK Independent Albums Chart upon release.
Wardruna launched an extensive 2024-2025 world tour, making their first-ever appearances in Australia, New Zealand and Latin America.
