The Finnish boy band XL5 from the 1990s returns with its complete original lineup for the first time. A historic concert featuring classic hits from the decade's biggest pop songs.
XL5 is a Finnish pop group from Hyvinkää, founded in 1996 and produced by Kristian Maukonen. The band became the first Finnish act to trigger full-scale boy-band hysteria, selling over 50,000 copies of their two albums and scoring one of the decade's biggest domestic pop hits with the debut single 'Kaunis peto'. The original five-piece - Mika Ikonen, Pete Tolonen, Jake Jokivalli, Elo Eloranta and Jami Jaakkola - was joined in autumn 1996 by Toni 'Tontsa' Uotila, who stayed until the band's last show in 1998.
XL5 announced a comeback for summer 2026, releasing a new version of their hit 'Kaunis peto' (titled 'Kaunis peto 2025'), produced by Aleksi Asiala and Veikka Erkola.
For the first time in the band's history, all six members who have ever been part of XL5 will perform together on stage during the 2026 summer festival run.
Four festival dates for summer 2026 were announced: Helsinki City Festival (14 Jun), Vauhtiajot in Seinäjoki (16 Jul), Tampere City Festival (7 Aug) and Tapiola Festivaali in Espoo (15 Aug), with more to follow.
