43 Petals

43 Petals is an exhibition by Manuela Norrgrann, whose title refers to the artist's age: each year is like a new petal, a layer of experience and growth. The number 43 also carries playful symbolism - when counting petals in the "loves me, loves me not" style, the last one lands on "loves me".

The exhibition's works were created between 2020 and 2026. Nature themes run strongly throughout, and some pieces were painted in natural settings. The show features both mixed-media works and oil paintings.

Norrgrann (born 1983, Italy) lives in Espoo. She graduated from the Helsinki School of Fine Arts in 2004 and studied in 2005 at the Pekka Halonen Academy on the fine arts folk school programme. Her work is characterized by bold colours, birds, flowers, and contemplative female figures.
