Light and Image Exhibition

The exhibition features artist portraits photographed by Jari Koskela (born 1975) from 2011-2024. The photographs were taken at Helsinki city venues including Savoy Theatre, Malmitalo, and Vuotalo. In addition to the artists captured in the images, concert lighting design is also central to the exhibition.

"In my work as a lighting technician, I have been fortunate to work with fine domestic and international artists whom I admire and to create the visual presentation of their concerts."

"The 25 photographs on display were originally taken as reference images. Concert lighting design always started with the question: how can music be best visualized?"

The photographs feature, among others, Irina Björklund, Linda Lampenius, Antti Reini, Atomirotta, 22-Pistepirkko, Jussi & The Boys, and John Paul Jones.

Light and Image is on view on the second floor of Pasila Library from June 2 to July 30.
