AVELA/LAINE: H(A)UNTING

The exhibition space of the Finnish Museum of Citizens, located at Helsinki Central Station, makes culture as accessible as public transport - bringing Finnish art and design to everyone at a place where people naturally gather.

H(A)UNTING examines how the past and unrealised futures are present in the here and now. The exhibition combines sculpture, photography, media art and installation with locally found materials, directing attention to the perceived, imagined and disappearing dimensions of urban space.

AVELA/LAINE explore temporality, space and place through historical layers, invisible structures and remnants in their work. Their process-based and experimental practice often centres on site-specific materials and embodied experience.
