Helsinki Day 12.6.2026

Helsinki Day is celebrated every year on 12 June to honour the city's birthday. The day's events are open to all and free of charge, organized by associations, companies, clubs, organizations, and active citizens. The tradition dates back to 1959.

The programme includes large and small events: music, performing arts, guided tours, exhibitions, open doors, and activities for both children and the elderly.

The day's traditions include the mayor's morning coffee, the naming of Stadin Kundi and Friidu, the awarding of the year's culture, sports, and environment prizes, and the celebration of Helsinki Day babies.
