Hanasaari Opening

Hanasaari power plant is a familiar landmark in eastern central Helsinki. The previously closed industrial area opens to city residents on Helsinki Day. The opening features an extensive programme for people of all ages. Expect music, dance, food and sauna.

Day's programme:

10:00: Guided tours of the power plant begin (fully booked)

15:00: Event area programme begins, food trucks open and sauna sessions start in the staff's old building

15:00-19:00: Spray painting and stencil technique under the guidance of street artists Mimmit Peinttaa

15:00-20:00: Reviver bicycle art shop and pop-up sales point open

15:30: Mayor Daniel Sazonov welcomes city residents

15:45-18:00: Urban stage dances mark the day

17:00-18:00: Teatteri Takomo open rehearsal in the sauna: "Searching for Lost Time 2017-2027, Part 9"

18:00-19:00: DJ duo Paha Vaanii performs

19:00-20:00: Grande Mahogany performs

20:00: Event ends

The city encourages arrival by public transport, on foot or by bicycle when possible.
