Ruth Schmidt: Symbol
Liszt-instituutti - Unkarin kulttuurikeskus, Helsinki

Ruth Schmidt's paintings give subtle expression to the dimensions of the soul and emotions.
"In my artistic work, I strive to transcend mere depiction of the visible world; my goal is to convey the complex feelings and thoughts hidden in life's invisible sides. I address universal themes such as childlike faith, attachment, emotions between people, the relationship between God and humanity, transience, hope, love, passion, pain, humor, self-criticism, and social critique. Through my symbolist works, often bordering on surrealism, I aim to make visible what cannot be put into words. I draw from personal experiences, and my works serve as intimate descriptions of my inner world - each one represents a piece of my soul."
