Helsinki Gay Choir Out 'n loud - Pride Evening
Helsinki Gay Choir Out 'n loud was founded in autumn 2004, when about a dozen singing enthusiasts gathered around the same piano - the choir became Finland's first gay choir.
The international name was adopted with world-conquest plans in mind. The repertoire includes familiar and unfamiliar songs, contemporary compositions, and classics. Currently the choir has about 40 singers, and new active members have joined over the past year. The choir is led by Aleksi Vasko, with Joonas Tuominen on piano.
Out 'n loud has performed for 20 years in the Helsinki region, at regional pride events, and at international festivals. The choir also helped establish the Nordic LGBTQ+ community's Queertune event, whose first edition was held in Helsinki in 2018. In summer 2026, the choir will represent Finland at the Various Voices rainbow choir festival in Brussels.
