Helsinki Gay Choir Out 'n loud - Pride Evenings — Espan lava, Helsinki

Around ten singing enthusiasts gathered in autumn 2004 around the same piano. Finland's first gay choir, Out 'n loud, was born.

The international name was chosen because world conquest was already in the plans. Out 'n loud's purpose is to bring joyful singers together. The choir performs familiar and unfamiliar songs alike. Modern melodies and classics blend into a lively harmony as the singers take the stage.

Helsinki Gay Choir Out 'n loud has performed actively in the Helsinki region, at regional pride events, and at international festivals for 20 years. Over the past year, Out 'n loud has welcomed new active singers, and the ensemble currently consists of around 40 singers.

Out 'n loud is heading to Brussels this summer (2026) to represent Finland at the Various Voices rainbow choir festival. As an active festival choir, Out 'n loud also helped establish the Nordic rainbow community event Queertune. The first event was held in Helsinki in 2018. The choir is conducted by Aleksi Vasko, with Joonas Tuominen on piano.
