Welcome to the traditional Midsummer dance celebration at Maunula-talo square!
We set the Midsummer mood with Tsuumi's city dances, followed by Midsummer dances accompanied by accordionist Teemu Harrinkari. You can sell or find treasures at the flea market.* You can also borrow garden games from the library. The youth centre side has a grill running. Summer has arrived!
Programme:
1.00 p.m.-7.00 p.m. Pastry shop sells treats for pastry lovers (Patisserie Teemu Aura)
3.00 p.m.-6.00 p.m. Flea market on the lawn (cancelled if it rains)
5.00 p.m.-7.00 p.m. Grilling for young people in front of the youth centre
5.00 p.m.-5.45 p.m. Dance lessons with City Dances
6.00 p.m.-6.45 p.m. Free dancing to Teemu Harrinkari's accompaniment
7.00 p.m.-7.45 p.m. Free dancing to Teemu Harrinkari's accompaniment
Månsas deli joins with ice cream treats. If it rains, the dances move indoors.
Free entry, welcome!
*Instructions for flea market sellers:
- The flea market is free. No advance registration required.
- Bring your own blanket, table or stand for your goods. Leave space for others - bring a thoughtful selection of seasonal items.
- Only your own used goods may be sold at the market.
- By coming to the event, you commit to cleaning up after yourself. Maunula-talo is not responsible for any items left behind. Unsold clean textiles can be taken to the nearest UFF recycling point at Männikkötie 3, Helsinki (approximately 800 m walk).
- In case of any order or harassment situations, contact Maunula-talo staff, whom you can identify by their Helsinki lanyard and staff card.
