Pride: Tablet Weaving Workshop

In this workshop you can try your hand at traditional tablet weaving. This ancient technique requires only minimal tools and works for both national costumes and rainbow ribbons.

Choose a ready-made weaving pattern and weave a piece of ribbon that you can use as is or finish as a piece of jewellery or keychain. All necessary tools and materials are provided. If you wish, you can bring a leather or fabric belt that fits snugly around your waist - one end of the ribbon will be attached to it for weaving.

Accessibility: you can weave standing or sitting, but you need two functioning hands to hold the warp with one hand and the shuttle with the other and move the shuttle from side to side. Some patterns are made with good contrast so weaving works even with weaker eyesight. If needed, you will receive help with finishing.
