Pride: Writing From Experience — Keskustakirjasto Oodi, Helsinki
Free entry

A discussion panel featuring published authors who are transgender, non-binary, intersex or gender non-conforming. The authors discuss their own works and what they consider important when writing gender-diverse characters. Our participating writers will answer questions and be available afterwards so you can purchase signed copies of their books.

This year's panel features: Cartoonist and novelist Sophie Labelle (she/her) (Serious Trans Vibes, The Best of Assigned Male), poet Taneli Leonora Viljanen (they/them) (Glitterneste), fantasy novelist Xan van Rooyen (they/them) (Sauúti Terrors, Born of Malice), poet and cartoonist Susi Nousiainen (he/him) (Muovikauris, Hiljaista vettä, Se on amisjuttu!) and advocate/romance writer Aatos Koutonen (they/them) (Kiire vessaan: a Campaign of Fictional Interviews for Inkotuki, Kanna tuuli kaipauksein, a historical romance).

The panel will be hosted by YA romance author Dougie K Powell (they/he) (My Best Rival, The Grown Ups.)

Books have the power to make us feel less alone and part of something. This is more important than ever!

The discussion will be held in Finnish and English. Questions can be asked in either language.
